my instinct tells me Kelleher is a Healy person, and Fulop wants a Fulop person in the position. but it's not a thread on JC list without a conspiracy theory, so thanks for getting that out of the way.

If she is being ?let go? because the job is not needed, then why replace her with a new person? My instinct tells me Kelleher is friendly with the FOL, and that makes Fulop angry.

Jersey City hires new cultural affairs director, replacing Healy ally
By Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal May 06, 2014 at 6:15 PM Maryanne Kelleher is out as Jersey City?s cultural affairs director, after nearly a decade in that position. Sources say Kelleher, a city worker since May 1996, is being transferred to the city?s health department, where she worked as a public affairs and development coordinator before getting her cultural affairs gig. Kelleher is a Jersey City fixture, the city's go-to person for flag raisings, art shows and other cultural events. Mayor Steve Fulop?s pick to replace her is Elizabeth Cain, who chaired the cultural development and tourism committee on Fulop?s transition team. Read more from the Jersey Journal
