You will probably need more than just a lot to rent to conduct business such as that in Jersey City. Just as pet sitters are supposed to have boarding permits when they take a clients pet into their own home. There are numerous walkers now loading vehicles with dogs completely untethered, no crates, and dogs of all sizes jumping all over seats and loading them into public dog runs outside of the dogs neighborhood. Insurance or not, accidents happen. There have been quite a few at Hamilton and Van Vorst Parks due to walkers and owners not being in control of too many dogs.

I am in the process of closing on a lot I just purchased off the Richard st lightrail, and haven't decided what to do with it as of yet. I should close mid to late April, if you are still in need I will be willing to chat.
Cheers!

You can also check with a realtor, they might be in the know. One thing to consider before you rent any vacant lot is to make sure it's not contaminated with anything toxic like chromium. Hudson County is full of these sites. Not sure how you could check that. Maybe check the public records to see what was previously on that lot. If there was anything industrial there in the past, I'd be wary.

Your best bet might be walking around, noting possible lot addresses and looking up the owners info on the tax website so you can reach out directly?

Looking to Rent a Vacant Lot

I have a small pet care company that provides pack playdates to about 15 dogs per day. Lately it has become increasingly difficult to find dog runs that will allow my pack (about 6-7 dogs at a time) to run and play as needed. I comepletely understand that public dog parks are not for commercial use and private dog runs are for residents of the building only. So, as a solution, I am hoping to find a vacant lot, ideally one that is fenced in, that I could rent from the owner and use as a safe and private play yard. I would only need access to the lot from 11:00-4:00 M-F, and I am willing to clean it up if it is cluttered with debris, broken glass, etc. My company is fully insured and I would assume any and all responsibility for any damage. My packs are well behaved, I keep barking to a minimum, and I do not let them dig holes or be destructive. Mostly they just need space to wrestle and run around! Obviously, I would clean up all the poop as well . I know it's an odd request, but if you or anyone you know is sitting on a vacant lot that might fit the bill, you might as well make some money off it, right? PM me with any leads! Thank you in advance!
