But at least it fits in really well with the Port Authority office tower above the PATH station! lol

It'll be fine. That huge structure adds 525 units. On an average weekday, 26,000 people use the Journal Square station. If we assume that the new building adds 1,000 trips, that's a 3.85% increase. shudder gasp Plus, capacity will increase in a few years, assuming they finish the signal upgrades.

Give Mayor DeBlasio some time. Maybe a couple of years into his administration there might be a flood of businesses relocating to Jersey City office space.

Work in JC? Doing what?? It's not like there's an abundance of high paying jobs in JC waiting for people to claim them. You do realize that most of the people flocking to JC do so because of the convenience of a short commute to NYC, right? While many, many NYC companies are relocating back office operations into JC, the local job gains are very small, almost nil. Most of these relocations are just that: they relocate the office space and bring all the previous employees along. Some people decide to quit before the move, so those positions may become open, but that's a minority. Heck, some clients of mine that have made the move have actually shrank their office space and are now having some employees work remotely from home. It is cost effective, and rather easy to implement with the technology available today.

Yup, this is encouraging me to figure out a way to work from home in 2 years. On the plus side, it will also incentivize people to work in JC compared to NYC.

All these units coming online in a span of just a few years, the PATH will become the biggest nightmare for people who take it.
