One person was stabbed and another suffered facial lacerations in a large-scale brawl on a light rail train in Jersey City that resulted in the arrests of five people, authorities said today.

Deaven Johnson, 34, of Jersey City was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and interference with transportation in the altercation that left five people injured, NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said.

Four juveniles were also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in the incident that occurred at 9 p.m. Monday night at the Marin Boulevard Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station. The age, gender and hometowns of the juveniles was not released.

The person who was stabbed and the person who suffered facial lacerations were treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, said Snyder, who added that there were three other victims who did not require hospitalization.
