About 2 weeks ago I went to donate some used books. They were turned away as the owner said they needed to make space for some type of theater production...

Seems a caf? is opening next door, the two places should work out a combined marketing plan.

Knock a door through.

Robin.

So she told a friend and I a week and a half ago or so when we went in the store that there has been a falling out of sorts with her daughter. She also spoke of some plumbing and electrical issues the store has been having and how the daughters boyfriend was susposed to fix them but hasn't. It was a whole lot of very personal family drama info I didn't want to know. I went in to look for a book and to get a cup of coffee. I left empty handed as there was no coffee and they didn't have the book I was looking for. They are nice people and I love the store. I hope they can work the issues out.

I hope not! This is a great little bookstore. The owners (mother and daughter) are so nice and welcoming. It is wonderful to have a place like this in the neighborhood. You can get lots of good used books for $3!

When we were looking for studio space I know that we liked the space next door, but the owner said Tachair had also rented that space and is enlarging. Not sure if those plans failed but I would think its the cafe next door.

I've gone by a couple of times an it looks like they're gone. I felt terrible because they seem like such nice people with good intentions. But I guess that's not enough to make a successful business.

Does anyone actually buy things from here? I was completely underwhelmed to see a few Ikea bookshelves with maybe 100 (used) books total up for sale. I commend them for their effort, but it sounds like a few buddies had a good idea one night and didn't really think the whole thing through.

I have. They are very nice and because it's mostly a used book store stock varies. They are also local.

So have I.

Newbie here. The past few days I haven't seen it open and there are curtains covering the windows. I might be just going by during off hours, but curious if they've gone out of business? I was hoping they'd be able to stick around.
