Jersey City aims to lead state in film productions

Hollywood on the Hudson?

Jersey City has a plan to revamp the way it works with filmmakers, one it thinks will make the city the ?premier destination? for New Jersey auteurs and bring tens of millions of dollars in revenue to local businesses, not to mention providing a little celebrity luster to the state?s second largest city.

Mayor Steve Fulop said a few simple tweaks to city policy and a small investment of about $7,000 should make Jersey City so much more attractive to production companies that the city should close out 2014 as the No. 1 location in New Jersey for film shoots.
