Funny I didn't notice must have been distracted by other points of interest in the photo.

Booker knew he would've lost a governorship race to Christie, as the media would ask if Newark is better than when he took over. It's not. As far as I can see, the major accomplishment Booker can point to is the Zuckerberg education money-which pisses off his core constituents, as Booker supports school choice!

Booker would have served NJ better by running for governor instead going after a seat that will be easily won.

Newark Mayor and U.S. Sen. candidate Cory Booker got the superstar backing of Oprah Winfrey tonight at a fundraiser at the Liberty House restaurant in Liberty State Park in Jersey City.

Tickets to the high-profile event were supposedly going for $1,000 to $2,6000.

Winfrey could seen tonight darting outside to a waiting limousine. Plenty of fans displayed autographs of the TV mega-star.

Actor Denzel Washington was also expected to attend the bash but this reporter didn't spot him.

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop made the scene.

?I think Cory understands the concerns of urban cities, and as a senator and I think we will have a senator who understands cities like Jersey City and that will be crucially important in moving forward,? said Fulop.

Booker backed former Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy in May's municipal's race but is apparently on good terms with Jersey City's new mayor. .

The primary is scheduled for Aug. 13 and the special election for Oct. 16.

State Sen. Sandra Cunningham, who represents Bayonne and the southern part of Jersey City, arrived tonight in the drizzle.

?I support Cory Booker because I think he?s going to bring attention to issues in New Jersey. I think he?s going to do a great job," she said.

Raj Mukherji, the Democratic nominee for the Assembly in the 33rd District, said ?Cory Booker is going to be amazing for our country as a senator, and I?m not going to lie, I have a crush on Oprah.?

The press was not allowed inside, but Mukherji said the crowd was ?incredibly diverse.?

He said when Fulop spoke the "crowd went wild."

About Oprah, he said, ?Oprah was very personable and down to earth, and in the photo line a woman gave her a gift for her dogs and she was very appreciative.?
