Two people are injured -- one seriously -- after a tank inside a vehicle exploded this afternoon on Congress Street in Jersey City, city officials said.

City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said a man had been working in a refrigeration unit at a deli on New York Avenue and was loading his vehicle when one of the tanks in his vehicle -- police did not what types of tanks he had -- apparently was leaking and exploded at 2:30 p.m., ripping open the trunk and shattering the windows.

When I turned on the radio after hearing cops racing down the blvd, one of the transmissions was one down.. Hopefully that's just a call for someone injured and nothing else.
