You better believe these hotels will not be full of tourists who plan to stay the whole weekend. It's just going to be for prostitutes, like it has been for years.

They should legalize prostitution and make the hookers get licensed. Make them pay fees, regular check-ups

Superbowl is the annual peak of Sex Trafficking. Girls, many underage and without any way to legally consent, are brought in for the men attending a game.

Kathleen O'Brien/The Star-Ledger

If location is everything in the hotel business, the sweet spot for the upcoming Super Bowl would surely be halfway between Times Square and MetLife Stadium.

Tonnelle Avenue, this is your moment to shine.

The Hudson County road, notorious for its axel-busting potholes and the auto repair shops they necessitate, is hoping that for three days next winter, football fans won?t notice the grime.

Even the Seville Motel ? where you can rent a room for three hours for $45 ? is trying to cash in on the high-rollers expected to descend on the state.

Never mind this is the kind of motel that has a Plexiglass barrier at the front desk, or that requires two forms of photo ID from its clientele. Which gives pause: If the employees don?t feel safe here, what about the guests?

"No Hangin Out," a sign says. Trust us, the possibility never crossed our mind.

Its Super Bowl rooms will be $200-250, with a three-night minimum, said manager Ashok Panwala. Even though they have no website, he said he?s already getting calls and walk-in inquiries.

Just a half-mile north is the crown jewel of Tonnelle Avenue, the 12-story Days Inn, a hotel that markets itself as being located in "New York City, NJ." Perhaps not surprisingly, many of its customers come from far enough away to be fooled by that geographic sleight of hand. Among the license plates in the parking lot are ones from Quebec, Ontario, New Hampshire and Georgia.

Prepare to fork over $1,300 a night to stay here during Super Bowl weekend ? or $1,000 if you book directly with the hotel. Payable in advance. No refunds.

By comparison, you could stay that same Jan. 31-Feb.2 weekend at the Short Hills Hilton for $449 a night.

At the Hilton, you?d get valet parking, a concierge, access to four restaurants, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and a 24-hour fitness center. Marble staircases with landings tastefully decorated with live orchids take you to several conference rooms, while the bathroom stalls come with copies of Sotheby?s magazine.

Yet believe it or not, the Days Inn North Bergen offers some amenities not available at the Short Hills Hilton: You can get a smoking room, and you can bring your pet.

And your room toilet comes with a gizmo that turns it into a bidet. (This, presumably, is for those tourists from Quebec.)

It has a penthouse restaurant that offers "hamburgers and cheeseburgers." No, they don?t serve booze, but Hollywood Liquors in West New York offers free delivery. Like the Short Hills Hilton, it?s clean, safe and quiet. (I slept like a log.)

And the view?

Well, sightlines to the east are blocked by that last ridge before the Lincoln Tunnel ? so no sunrise vistas of the Manhattan skyline.

But to the west? It?s a 4-year-old boy?s idea of heaven ? like a page out of "Richard Scarry?s Busy, Busy, World."

There are trains, planes, helicopters, cars, buses, cranes, radio towers, ambulances ? all blinking and moving and belching. And amidst the chaos, a majestic white heron silently flies graceful arcs over the sliver of marshland we?ve left him.

Morning reveals a traffic-cam view of cars clogging Routes 1&9, Route 3 and Paterson Plank Road. They move so slowly it looks like a middle school science class film?s illustration of arteriosclerosis.

In the distance is High Mountain in Wayne, with Garret Mountain a bit closer. And there, beckoning, close enough to trick you into thinking you could walk there, is MetLife Stadium. It?s actually more than four miles away.

Vanessa Rubio, in the hotel?s sales department, said they?re in the process of arranging for a shuttle to take Super Bowl guests to and from the big game. (The Short Hills Hilton is 23 miles away.)

Not everyone on Tonnelle Avenue is out to make a killing on the Super Bowl. Take "Andy" Gandhi, the manager of the Starlite Motel, a red-brick courtyard-style motel in Jersey City with 50 rooms and hardly any vacancies. He rents mostly to workers who are in the area temporarily.

It?s hardly a high-end establishment. Or even a medium-end place. Travel website reviews are a relentless compilation of horror stories involving stains, flies, hair, mold, blood, and even a condom.

Its nightly rate is $85 ? and Gandhi said it won?t be hiked to cash in on Super Bowl madness. If they were to do that, they?d price out their regulars.

"We?ve got to be fair to them," he said. "That?s our bread and butter."

Three days of profit might be good for the short term, but in his mind, that?s thinking about business the wrong way. "You have to look at it long term," he said, "And long term, we?re here for good."
