Must be the cool wet spring we are having..

It's because of all the standing water left by recent rains. Empty anything you see that has water in it. Garbage cans, lids, buckets, tires, anything.

I've found the most effective approach in my back yard is one or two strategically placed box fans. They can't handle the breeze.

The mosquito commission is extremely helpful and responsive whenever I call.

Bug zappers are actually useless against mosquitos, which hare attracted to CO2. In fact, the vast majority of insects killed by zappers are beneficial insects, not pest species. Using them hurts the local ecosystem.

Thanks for the info, I also live behind LSP, more towards the golf course.

I did get a bug zapper($25) and I think it makes a huge difference. I keep it indoors when I am inside and bring it out only when I sit on the patio.

The only down side it makes a loud popping noise when its zapping the mosquitoes and flies.

Does the town do this? We live near LSP and the mosquitos right now are ruthless!! I cannot even open my back door without 10 flying into the house, lets not talking about enjoying my back yard... not going to happen... we need spraying! who can I call? I was thinking about purchasing a bug zapper but how beneficial would that really be? I feel bad because my kids want to play in the backyard and I dont want them to get west nile or some crazy shit!
