Best Android, iPhone or iPad app is the free app and it is better than the pricey stuff -- Waze (as it is called) has real time everything. It has the best traffic info because you are part of the info source -- and it is fun and easy!

Thank you Hudson Hawk. I would kill for a better mobile site, but I guess I just need to stop forgetting to check before I am already in my car!

You're right that Google Maps is completely unreliable here.

Thanks again.

One would HOPE that this would be completed before they start the work on the Pulaski, but I'm hardly confident of it...

I feel your pain. I commute from 280 to Jersey City every weekend and its very annoying to take the Fish House Rd detour which adds about 20-30 min to the drive.

I always check http://www.511nj.org/ before heading to Jersey City. Google Maps is not reliable for the Wittpenn Bridge. Just the other weekend, as I was taking the detour to get around the Wittpenn Bridge GoogleMaps showed it was open(Green).

Does anyone have a good, quick website they use to see when the Wittpenn Bridge is closed - or perhaps I should say, actually open?

Getting real tired of doing miserable 1&9 U-turns and cursing.

The detour signs are just there permanently now, so not much help there.

Any advice is much appreciated!

You can always try state of nj dept of transportation... they always have updates...
