Jersey City police say 2 men attacked arresting officers after brutal beating of 49-year-old

Two men being arrested for the brutal assault of a man turned on the police and attacked them Thursday night in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City, authorities said.
Darquise Davis and Clayton Cureton, both 23 and of the same residence on the 100 block of Wegman Parkway, were arrested after the 10:17 p.m. beating on Grant Avenue, a police report says.

Each is charged with offenses that include aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstructing and two counts of aggravated assault on police officers, the criminal complaint says.

Officers responding to multiple reports of a man being assaulted found the 49-year-old victim on the ground and bleeding from the head, the report says, adding that Davis and Cureton were seen walking away at a fast pace.
