Funny, when both the parks downtown were renovated, VVP, & HP we heard the same silly arguments that the city should not spend $ on such a neighborhood, and they will be destroyed within a year... but that was 12 years ago, little did the so called know it all actually know.... I am a big supporter of all of JC, not just one pocket.

If one part of the city can be revised, I am hopeful the rest of the city. It just makes the whole city a better place.

Flower pots....yea but what's growing in these flower pots in that area and what's stashed in them and the trashcans that we need to worry about!

Color me skeptical. The little complex is pretty much on its own. I can't imagine hanging out there. Heck, it's too exposed for drug dealers and I can't for the life of me see why anyone would want to hang out in the middle of a multi-street intersection.

Jersey City unveiled ?The Junction? on Thursday, a project at the intersection of Communipaw, Garfield, Summit, Randolph and Arlington avenues that adds open space, roadway improvements and more to that area of the city.

The $1.3 million project has won an award from the New Jersey Society of Municipal Engineers, which credited city Engineer Chuck F. Lee for his Junction design.

?The Junction will surely improve the aesthetics and quality of life in the community,? said Mayor Jerramiah Healy. ?The improved attractiveness of the Junction will make the area more enticing and will attract more pedestrian traffic and more pedestrian traffic means more business for local merchants.?

The Junction provides 3,200 square feet of passive recreation space and roadway upgrades, new tree plantings and decorative street lighting.Resized Image
