A painter who doesn't take the plates off receptacles and switches has no pride in his work, but I'm sure they're cheaper.

Try Nick down on Montgomery. Good Luck!

I used Nick. Very nice and reliable. His helper is a young guy with an attitude who doesn't care. Be aware that you have to tell them NOT to paint over your outlets. And you have to tell them things like you want your baseboards painted. He said he'd come back to paint them but never did. I'm also still trying to get paint off my hardwood floors.

He was affordable but the job was a little too slapdash.

Lou Carbone in Hoboken is a real pro. usually booked up well in advance, though.

I would highly recommend this company:

J.Canabe's Painting Co
178 Belgrove Dr
Kearny, NJ 07032
Lic: 13VH03640200
Phone 201-997-0722

Jimmy Paz is the owner. They recently did a high-quality paint job in our building. Very reasonable price and very committed to full customer satisfaction. I will certainly hire them again for any future paint job.

Oops, I meant to write that ceiling height is only about 12' - 13' so ladder wouldn't have to be quite so tall! Thanks and any leads would be much appreciated.

Requirements:
I would like to hire someone who does the work directly, i.e. not working as a subcontractor. High quality work, and since it is for a loft, he must own a long ladder (ceiling height is about 16').

Preferences
I will be providing the paint and rollers and would prefer that the painter bring all of his own supplies (rods, tarp, sheets, etc.)

I can help out with moving furniture, so can be an individual and not necessarily a crew. Would appreciate feedback and recommendations. Job is in downtown. Thank you.
