The developers of the building have to pay for the cops which is pure extortion by the police department because 5 cops were obviously not needed.
As a tax payer, I would rather pay the $60 an hour to have those same 5 cops cracking skulls of gang members in the projects.

Because like everyone else on this forum, they feel that they would be a better police officer, mayor, council person. etc. Would love to see some of these busybody know it alls actually do something other than whine on JCList.

Remember, these cops are not being taken away from their "regular" duties on the street for these assignments.

These are JC officers who otherwise would have a day off and are filling extra time by getting a side job in security. They just happen to wear their uniform while doing so. Contractors or building owners pay their costs fully - not taxpayers.

If you are having an event, large delivery or require security (think BJ's or ShopRite), you too can hire your very own JC cop.

It is my understanding that the developer covers this cost completely.

Usually there is one officer helping to manage traffic and deliveries. According to the officer I spoke to this morning, today is a major delivery day for the building. They completely blocked off parking from Van Vorst to Warren on Morris Street.

Do they really need that many working here? 3 were just talking & only 1 was directing traffic which was good.
I hope the condo is paying for these cops.
