If you have enough time, you can apply by mail rather than in person. Instructions are here. The application form to fill out is here in PDF. Print it 2-sided, fold and seal and put on a stamp.

The instructions say:
Please note: a voter may apply for a Mail-In Ballot by mail up to 7 days prior to the election, or he or she may apply in person to the County Clerk's Office until 3 p.m. the day before the election.

So October 30 is the last day they will accept a mailed application to vote by mail, and November 5 is the last day to apply in person.

If you do go in person, turn off Montgomery on Florence and follow it around to Cornelison, or turn off Summit and go down Wayne. If you drive, there is a visitor parking lot on Cornelison but you'll have to look carefully at the signs to find the right one.

Many of the County offices are now in the old Block Drug building at the end of Cornelison Ave. across Montgomery St. from the Beacon.

I need to vote by mail this year, and nj.gov tells me to hand my application in to the county clerk, at 257 Cornelison Ave.

when I plug that address into Google Maps, it gives me an empty lot on a desolate block off Montgomery street.
