I would work on making the Grove St. PATH station on the Marin Blvd. end ADA compliant. This should have been done from the get-go when this end of the station was first built a few years ago. I think there is a suit of some kind going on to force their hand in doing so.

Two questions:
1. How will this effect commuting? Will it allow shorter headways, less mid-station stopping, etc? 2. Is this a better use of PA money than providing secondary exits at the uptown Manhattan stations (except 33rd St.) or making stations ADA compliant?

Port Authority shows off $66M command center
Tuesday August 28, 2012, 8:03 PM The Record JERSEY CITY ? Officials from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are getting ready to celebrate the 50th anniversary of PATH train service between the two states. They're also unveiling a new command center that combines train operations and security functions under one roof. Among the features of the $66 million center in Jersey City is a wall with nearly 200 video screens, which show camera feeds from PATH's 13 stations. Security staffers say there are many more cameras whose images also can be accessed. The new center is scheduled to go into full-time operation in January. The Port Authority took over the old Hudson and Manhattan Railroad in 1962. Last year, nearly 77 million passengers rode PATH trains between New York and Hoboken, Jersey City and Newark. http://www.northjersey.com/news/Port_ ... f_66M_command_center.html
