A Jersey City liquor store sold one of three $1 million Powerball tickets in Saturday's drawing, state lottery officials said.
Old Colony Liquors, located in the Old Colony Square Shopping Center on Grand Street, sold the winning ticket, officials said. Two other million-dollar winners were sold in Idaho and New York. The Jersey winner, who has yet to come forward, matched the five white balls selected in Saturday night's drawing, state lottery officials said. The winning numbers were: 01, 06, 07, 20 and 49 and the Red Power Ball number was 23. Since no one matched all six numbers for the $60 million jackpot, the top prize now climbs to $70 million with a $46.2 cash option. Aubrey Bridgewater, a manager at the liquor store that sold the ticket, wasn't sure the store had sold the winning ticket until a reporter from The Jersey Journal showed him a news release from the New Jersey Lottery. Prior to the $1 million ticket, the highest winning ticket sold at Old Colony Liquors was $300 about two years ago. Bridgewater believes that once word gets out they sold a winning ticket, people will start coming in. "Somebody will say 'this store is selling winning tickets, let me try it,'" he said.Power Ball
