2 robbed by armed duo in attempted carjacking in Jersey City, police are told

Jersey City police are looking for a man and woman armed with handguns who robbed two men who were seated in a BMW last night, reports said.

At 9:19 p.m. the victims, a 21-year-old Neptune Avenue man and a 22-year-old Stegman Street man, flagged down police at Martin Luther King Drive and Claremont Avenue saying they were victims of an attempted carjacking, police reports said.

The officers found the car still parked on Rose Avenue, but two cell phones left behind were gone, reports said.

The driver said he was talking to a man when another man walked up with a handgun and said "You know what this is," reports said. The driver jumped out of the car, slammed the door into the gunman, and ran away, reports said.
