Seriously folks. DON'T POST NAKED PHONE NUMBERS ON OPEN WEBPAGES. Especially if they belong to individuals.

Now that's what I was looking for, thanks for the help video and good idea on talking to the kraverie folks, too. Don't know why I didn't think of asking existing owners.

Try Patti at JCFD on Marin Blvd. at 201.547.4200 to start. You need a permit from them if operating an open flame from your food cart so it's worth a try if applicable. Also, try reaching out to JC Health Department by JSQ @ (201) 547-5545 to see if they can assist. Those two are just leads so good luck.

I would speak with the nice folks at Kraverie if I was thinking about getting into the food cart business.

heh. Seriously though, and thanks for the reply, 111, but is there anyone official or who can point me to an actual documentation that JC doesn't sell the licenses anymore? Or a number I can call?

hilarioius. JC is like the wild west, chicago during the Al Capone era, and modern day nasty Russian/Albanian mafia. Us working folks are the suckers.

Bring an envelope stuffed with cash to the Astor Bar and order Cole slaw. That's the code word. You'll soon be approached by an unshaven homeless looking male. He may or may not break into song but do not be alarmed if he is nude. Also, if he is naked, do not comment on his obvious Irish heritage on display as he is known to attack with the slightest provocation as his convictions for assaulting police officials will attest. Buy a round and whisper that you are interested in opening a roach coach and give him the envelope. That's it you're in.

A brief look on google failed, so I figured I'd ask here rather than schlep over to the courthouse or city hall first. I'm thinking of starting a food cart - not a truck - at most one of those mini trailers that gets towed to a location. I know that a few politicians browse here and was wondering if they (or anyone) could point me towards the regulations and whatever forms and permits were needed.

Webmaster, if this is in the wrong section and should be in bars/restaurants or whatever, please by all means move it. Figured I'd go with Pol/Gov because of the paperwork. Also if there's anyone who currently owns one who has a recommendation for one to buy or whatever, feel free to PM me.
