Are dogs allowed to swim at the reservoir? I haven't been able to find much on this topic! I'd love a local option to take my pup swimming that isn't the Hudson River/Morris Canal.

"appreciate the environment"?

Not the "appreciate the lake", not "appreciate the park", not even "appreciate the outdoors"

We go out and look at the "environment" in awe and appreciation. WOW. Environment... it is all around us... groovy....

Jersey City Reservoir #3 is an urban oasis, juxtaposing a serene hiking and fishing environment to the hustle and bustle of the city that surrounds it.
Nestled next to Pershing Field in The Heights, the grounds have become an area of interest to local organizations seeking to redevelop and preserve local wildlife.
Volunteers from the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance and the Jersey City Recreation department recently opened the gates to Jersey City Reservoir #3 as part of Green Week.
On Saturday, May 5 students from School 28 also participated in a nature based scavenger hunt. As part of their "Project Reservoir," the students performed water tests as well as planted cattail seeds.JJResized Image
