Lyndon B. Johnson: [Putting medal on Forrest] America owes you a debt of gratitude, son. Now I understand you were wounded. Where were you hit?
Forrest Gump: In the buttocks.
Lyndon B. Johnson: Oh that must be a sight.
[Whispering to Forrest]
Lyndon B. Johnson: I'd like to see that.
[Forrest shows him; Johnson walks away embarrassed]
Lyndon B. Johnson: God damn, son.

A 23-year-old Jersey City man refused to cooperate with police after being shot in the right buttock during a fight yesterday morning, police reports said.

Called to Communipaw Avenue and Halladay Street on the report of a shooting at 2:25 a.m., police encountered a large crowd and saw a 23-year- man lying in pain on the sidewalk, reports said.

Witnesses told cops that after the man was knocked to the ground during a fist fight, a 2-door Honda Accord pulled up to the scene and the driver got out and fired one round into the victim's right buttock, reports said.

The driver then jumped back into the car and fled south on Halladay Street.

The Delaware Avenue resident was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening injury but refused to cooperate with Jersey City Police Department detectives, reports said.

Anyone with information about this shooting should call the JCPD tip line at (201) 547-JAIL
