otherwise best bet is to take NJ Transit 80 bus up the hill and get off a block before five corners, Cook St. before bus turns left on Central and then walk up to five corners and make right on Summit, walk north on Summit to Pershing field, 10-15 min. return trip walk to five corners get bus along Newark Ave -

alternative 86 bus goes up Newark Ave, right on Palisades then get off at Reservoir Ave and walk west, as mentioned above and 86 does not go to Journal Square -

Take the #86 to JSQ then get on the #83 which goes along Summit Ave. through the Heights.

the dollar vans eventually go on palisade which involves a walk up to summit....same for the njt 86 line which goes up newark and onto palisade without having to go through journal square first. other than that you're still stuck with a walk or a bus change at the square.

I would like to find out if there is a way to get to Summit Avenue by Pershing Field from downtown JC by public transportation. Do the dollar vans run there? or any other line? the only way I have found online suggests going to Journals Sqare and taking a bus from there but that is making the trip much longer than I like...
Please help!
