It will be rentals - a 11 or 12 story building. Majority of larger projects now in the city are rentals since banks won't finance condos and rental market is solid.

Does anyone know what happened to the deli that used to be on the corner of Columbus and Grove? Right across from the PATH. I hear that Dunkin Donuts is moving into that space but does anyone know if the owners of the deli moved somewhere else? I used to frequent that deli and became friendly with the owners. I would love to know if they are in a different location now. Thanks.

Been here for a little over two years and its been vacant the whole time. But recently it looks like there is some activity there. Seems like prime real estate if you ask me but maybe its too much money and therefore vacant.

They stopped being called Indians when people came came over in droves from India. Way too confusing. But NOW what are we going to do? We now have to deal with old Siberians and recent Siberians. I'm so offended to know that the old Siberians came over and did nothing to improve the place then when the Pilgrims showed up and established a colony the old Siberians had to be paid off. And that's how the Russian mafia began in this country.( Lol, just kidding)

Oh, and if anyone wants corporate burritos, we're getting one of these WAY downtown:

http://www.salsaritas.com/

It's going in right next door to Honshu Lounge, which is right next to the old Flamingo spot.

Anyone know what's going on at the building on Christopher Columbus across from Hard Grove? I don't know the exact address, but I'm pretty sure it used to be an unemployment center a few years ago and it's the building with the big globe lights out front.

Seagull, Is this the image you are speaking of?

It's an art piece by the local artist Dylan Egon.

133 Newark is going to be a Two Boots pizza joint. However, I've been meaning to ask if anyone knows what's going on with the space on Newark Ave next to Sawadee? The space has an image of a native american holding an assault rifle on the boarded up wood.

Seriously. I am just happy it's not a Hooters or Buffalo Wild Wings, as that seemed to be what the owner was holding out for.

Oh, I had no idea the Two Boots in Brooklyn had a bar and live entertainment. I'm completely unfamiliar with Two Boots. If that's what's coming to Newark Ave, that's fantastic. But either way, it sounds like this Grove Bistro might be more of a nightspot that a restaurant, but I'm not sure.

Honestly - ANYTHING is better than the empty space that we've been looking at for (5?) years.

From what I understand, Two Boots is strictly a pizza joint. This place, at least from 12345's description, sounds like a full restaurant and wine bar with live music. That sounds like a totally different type of business than a pizzeria to me.

I thought the Two Boots coming to JC was going to be more like the one in Brooklyn, which is a restaurant and bar with live music on weekends (obviously also serves pizza). No?

I'm glad to see something good-sounding going into that space but I do wish Downtown could move beyond the Thai/pizza hegemony. (I like both but when I go out to eat, I prefer not to have exactly the same thing I'd get if I ordered in, which is why I was excited when I thought Two Boots was going to bring more of its restaurant menu. I'm willing to settle for a bistro at Grove, though. And Thirty Acres sounds promising...)

It is going to be a bistro, working name is Grove Square

brick oven pizza, full bar, wine bar, full kitchen, open late, live music, full renovation happening soon former congressman Guarini owns the space and leased it to the new owner.

It is the large storefront next to the Dunkin Dounuts

Is this the space to the right of D&D? I've never seen anything in that space. Was wondering if the landlord was holding out for some big box national chain with a ridiculous asking price. It would be great to fill in those empty stores right outside Grove. Outdoor seating would be fantastic!!

On another note looks like those spaces across from LITM on Newark have started to get close to finalizing the retail space.

Hoping Flamingo (will it still be called the Flamingo) will open soon and still be 24 hours.

I heard a rumor that Powerhouse Lounge is moving over to space next to Dunkin Donuts.

I think someone has leased the large space next to Dunkin Donuts where the pizza place used to be? Anyone know what will be there?

Also, I see the ground floor of the large brick building on Grove (1 block north of the Grove PATH) looks like something is going to occupy that spot. I wonder what?
