Not advisable to discard cc receipts before 1 year, at least mc and visa. A customer can dispute or request a copy for up to 1 year. Not sure about amex and other cards. If you cannot produce the signed receipt, you're out the money. Also, IRS regulations state you must keep records for 3 years.

Next? Why try to create drama when everybody is basically Taqueria threaded-out? All cards are run and signed up front before people sit down. We've been open for seven years now and we don't "scam" anyone. If this is true then by all means come in so we can deal with it accordingly. We keep all cc reciepts for 4 months so there are ways of finding out if somebody is adjusting them after the fact.

i've been going here for years and have even previously praised them on this thread. but i ordered here sunday night, my receipt reflects a $25 charge and they ended up running my card for $27 as my bank statement shows. i don't mind rude service and even found humor in the list of things they DON'T have, but scamming customers for an extra buck or two crosses the line. NEXT!

I sat here and read all the posts. I concluded that the Taqueria could have better communication skills, but, the people complaining are the same losers who couldn't hold a candle to the owners of business's. They complain about everything, don't know when to let got, and there are two sides to every story. Many customers are d-bags, and feel entitled. I bet at there job they aren't to hot either.

Also, it's always the same people who complain. They should get together with the Brewsters of the world, pool thier money together, and put in the time, effort it takes to run a place.Maybe then they will realize what it takes when people like themselves come in and demand things because they spent a dollar in your store.

And people with Children, Leave them home. They are cute for a minute. Adults want to have a relaxing time. I have two kids and would never bother people with them when they were small. You love your kids, and people who don't know you will tolerate them for a very short time.

I don't think I've had (or even seen) a Carta Blanca since I left Texas ages ago. Great news - thanks!!

not only did I have the lime issue, but one time i bit into a taco and it was surrounded by a paper plate and foil!!!

Seriously though, the only thing better than their off menu lime taco is the radish taco. so good with a squeeze of chorizo.

To be fair, they don't usually put the ketchup packet between the buns hidden out of sight. I did the same thing the first time I had a Taqueria taco. Live and learn, but I doubt Beach Guy and I are the only ones who've done that. I've lived in Texas and California and eaten thousands of tacos - never seen the lime inside. It's cool, now that I know it's there - just wasn't expecting it.

It never ceases to amaze me how Hard Grove has stayed in business. Terrible service (every time!) and mediocre at best food. I guess the location is their saving grace.

Best post on this thread by far, lol.

They must have accidentally given you the lime taco... definitely an acquired taste.

did a jersey city resident just make this review up (copied below) out of spite, or has the culture finally begun rearing it's ugly (but infinitely amusing) head in the lower east side?

i actually had a similar but distinctly more ridiculous experience to the third anecdote:

i walked in with a friend about 15 minutes before closing to put in a takeout order. t a k e o u t . my friend and i tell the employee who approaches us to take our order that we need a moment to decide what we want. after, literally, about a moment, we decide what we want. during this moment -- maybe 30 seconds -- the employee has walked away. also in that span of time, my friend leaves me to take a phone call outside, entrusting me with the daunting task of placing our takeout order. when i regain the attention of the employee accepting takeout orders, i am informed that i am not allowed to order until everyone in my party is present. mind you (over-stressing this here) i was placing a takeout order. and i was even on the proper side of the counter, where takeout orders are placed. i would've accepted culpability if, god help me, i was trying to place my order from the wrong side of the counter. but i wasn't.

so here i am, a little perplexed. i go outside and gather up my friend. when we come back inside (there was no one else waiting to order, and not 30 more seconds had elapsed) i was informed by the employee, who hadn't moved from where i left him, that they were now closed and not accepting orders.

it was super douchey.

(1-star yelp review for Tacqueria LES:)
- - - - - - - - - - - - -

12/14/2011 The taco was decent, but nothing better than you can get at an "authentic" taco cart.

The service here was a joke. A woman came up after I ordered and started babbling to me, the customer, about how her co-worker left Nyquil on the front counter or something.
Then the co-worker comes back and shoves money back in my hand, as he tells me he is giving me the money back I paid to put guacamole on my taco because, since it is "against [their] policy" to do so, he wasn't going to do it anymore.

Then a girl comes in with her dog, which is wearing a vest, and politely states that it is a service dog and asked where the best place would be to seat her - the confused and rude staff didn't know what to do. They went to the back. Some stoner manager guy came over and told her they can't serve her, WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW.

This place is just so lame, none of the people are from anywhere around here, and the customer service is terrible. The tacos are decent but even my friend who originally reccomended I tried it out was just griping to me about how they wouldn't seat her and her friend in the not-that-busy restaurant until their 3rd friend got there, even though he wasn't going to eat.
