Thanks all, Wife and I are living on Kensington Ave now. So far so good, only thing I have really noticed besides no trendy shops, the street and side walks are dirty as hell with trash. I'm fighting with my doggies to make sure they dont eat chicken bones every time we go for a walk.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Since you've obviously already picked a place to move into, don't worry about wishing you'd picked another location. Every neighborhood has parts that are better or worse.

I'd say you're in a good spot - not dangerous compared to many other areas in town. We live on Harrison near JFK and there are a lot of people in our area who are active in the block association. Just try to meet your neighbors and keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

You would probably be safer up in the Heights. Have you tried getting a feel of that area at different times by stroling or driving by. Chat with the would be neighbors, attend a meeting such as a block association or police captain's meeting. Go to the public library or a church in that area, imerse yourself so you will be able to get a true taste of the neighborhood. Don't go in blindsided.

The wife and I are moving onto the Kensington Ave by Lincoln Park. We are out-towners. I was wondering the general feel of the area in regards to safety and neighborly love??
