Trust me, I'd notice if they were changing their pattern. the only variation has been that when there's been power glitches and blackouts it comes on. Even if it was only a momentary glitch the generator will run for a little while. The exhaust doesn't bother me nearly as much as the noise, you have to shout to be heard even indoors.

I understand the maintenance needs, but the timing makes a backyard dinner on Friday impossible. They used to do it at 3:30 for many years.

Mcnair does this, but only for 1/2 hr at 6 pm Friday. It's to test the emergency generator. I've requested that it be changed from the dinner hour to earlier, as it used to be. No luck so far.

What high school is this?

I live near a high school in downtown JC and every evening they turn on some sort of exhaust fan/tube that blows out black smoke and noxious fumes at a very high rate. During summer these fumes blow into the windows and air conditioners of the surrounding buildings pumping random, foul-smelling gases into everyones' apartments. I have no idea why they couldn't at least route the exhaust outlet to the roof as opposed to ground level. Are they any kind of regulations or county agencies that regulate issue like these? I would at least like to know what type of chemicals I am breathing in day after day...
