Kareem James, 32, of Jewett Avenue, was arrested at the Holland Gardens housing complex at about 8:30 a.m. on the charges of aggravated sexual assault, burglary and criminal attempt, reports said. The 27-year-old 16th Street victim told police she felt someone following her as she returned home at 1 a.m. Tuesday, and when she tried to enter her apartment, James pushed in after her, reports said. "After a few moments he threw her on the couch and forcefully held her down," reports said. The victim said James tried to take off her pants but she was able to stop him and he then disrobed partially, reports said. The woman said she fought continuously and eventually her attacker left, police said, adding that she filed a report on the incident around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
