By the way Colleen: howdy neighbor! Remember seeing in another one of your posts that you live at 7th and Brunswick. I'm at 7th and Coles, so practically neighbors. As an update, unless I can get one of the school fields for free, which I'm not counting on, Liberty State Park looks like it's going to be the place. Good proximity to the beer hall also makes it a standout choice.

Lincoln Park has a big enough fields to play rugby, I have seen some people play there and that was on the open field.

I'm recovering from back surgery so it will be a little while before I'm in shape to play. I am in perfect shape for the after game meet ups though.

Also, for those of you who aren't familiar in the least with rugby, one of the best parts of the sport is the post-game social at a local watering hole! It's a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

Heights/Haizum: We'd need a field roughly the size of a soccer field, but a space a bit larger or smaller than soccer field dimensions won't make or break the game. I was thinking LSP is about the only spot that would accommodate the space we'd need, but like I said, I'm really not too familiar with the public spaces downtown JC has to offer, so input is appreciated.
Colleen: It's a bit slower than Sevens and not as intensive a workout, so any level of conditioning usually does pretty well with this version. I'd like to keep it in JC if possible so those who don't drive can easily access the location.

Oooohh this sounds FUN! Like 'Sevens' but with more people. Do you think you could play on the ball field behind the Fire Station of Newark?

I would definitely be interested. LSP is the only park near DT with enough space for this. I would think VVP and Hamilton are a little too small and get crowded too early.

Being new to the city, I wanted to gauge the interest of those willing to participate in Saturday rugby in one of our parks or possibly at a field. We wouldn't be playing traditional rugby, rather this would be what is called "Kicking Game" rugby. This game is typically played to teach beginner ruggers the basics of the game without the worry of the physicality that usually accompanies the sport. More advanced players know that this game is great for cardio and honing your kicking and ball-handling skills. Both male and female players are welcome, as are all skill levels.
Since I'm not very familiar with the city as a whole, any recommendations on where I can set games up and/or other ways I can reach out to residents of JC via internet would be greatly appreciated.
