Forgot. None that I know of provide lunch. Most have field trips activities.

At 5, my son went to Camp Kadimah at Bayonne JCC. It was about $2600 for 8 weeks (including bus). The bus was about $700 so subtract that if you don't need it.

They have indoor pool and are across from Bayonne Park which is really nice. Huge renovated playground.
They had a weekly field trip to various places like Zoos, lakes, etc.

A local mom put together a summer camp guide. It's available at many downtown business for $10. I know the toy store on Jersey Ave has it. It's very comprehensive.

Here is what I know but you'll have to research the contact info. The cost for most of these places ranges from about $250 a week to $450.

Heights/Journal Sq area
Primary Prep
Park Prep Academy http://www.parkprepacademy.com/
Parkside Preschool
St.Paul's (least expensive)
Swim Camp at St. Peter's College (very reasonable)

Downtown JC
Garden Preschool
Hamilton Park Montessori
Next Step Broadway
Stevens Cooperative (also in Hoboken)
The tia kwon do school on Newark Ave.

Bayonne
Camp Kaddimah (bus from Heights provided)

The above is really a very short list. I didn't even cover Hoboken.

There is also Camp Liberty when your child turns 6.

Hope this helps a bit.

I am writing to find out where other parent's are putting their school age children into summer camp in Jersey City, NJ. I have a 5 year old son who is in kindergarten that I am in the process of making arrangements for. We live in the Jersey City Heights, but I am willing to travel to a different area. If you could please provide a link to the web site or the costs and whether or not they provide lunch and do activities and take field trips it would be really helpful.
