Can we count on you to restrain yourself from the use of racial slurs in your dealings with school children in the future?

I, Jayson H. Burg, ?Dr. J?, am running for The Jersey City Board of Education. As a candidate for the Jersey City Board Office Seat, Our District needs to have a progressive plan for improvement, which is inclusive and diverse, which leaves no man, woman, or child behind and no dollar spent foolishly. We can no long afford lip service from Dr. Epps? and his administration?s failed attempts to achieve our mission, to improve literacy.
We can?t blame everyone and anyone for our children?s failures. We are all in this battle called life together. We all pay dearly for failure, especially with illiteracy, indifference, and imprisonment. There is no future for us as a city or nation, when our children have no more hopes or aspirations. The Jersey City Board of Education needs to be more Accountable, Transparent, and Sensible with its daily, yearly, etc. progress via its website, which would include all budgets, approved contacts, policies and procedures, property values, etc, thus, it would be improving its governance for all to see without question. We all need to be more than we give credit to ourselves and we all need to be more generous. Our communities of underachievers may not be materially wealthy, but they and we are all spiritually affluent when we all nurture and encourage each other over the top. Our teachers need our support against indifference from their students, parents, guardians, fellow teachers, administers, etc. They need better tools, supplies, etc., to arm their students for a changing world. And the best way to combat illiteracy is replacing Jersey City?s Whole Language Curriculum with a Phonics Based Curriculum, which when implemented will have our underachievers going up 3 reading leveling in one year. Our children need our support against the elements of apathy, which keeps them from succeeding and being more than others see of them. All our students are ?Super Stars in the own Right and Merit?. Not every child has the demeanor for college, but everyone does hold the promise of literacy and the skills to succeed even when they are the last to finish the race. They still did their best. We need to reestablish our ?Dirty Trades? of Home Economics, Wood, Auto, etc. Shops, because not everyone is bound for college and everyone needs such skills to take care of one?s self and family We need to be wise when it comes to our citizens? property taxes, which supports our educational institutional objectives through the Conservation of Natural and Capital Resources. The less we waste, the more we learn, the more we can return on our investment in our children and community. It is my task as a candidate and future Board of Education Member, to begin forth and cultivate the thin threads that bonds us as a community of commonwealth. When we build better bridges today for learning and understanding, we all become agents of positive community development with the fruits of our labor today, so shall it be reaped tomorrow. The road might be long and hard, but with a firm footing and determination, our walk of a thousand miles will be realized in the fruits of our students? empowered futures. Thank you for your time. I hope you vote for me and my fellow slate candidates and our quest for a better learning environment for all our children. We are nothing without commitment, dedication, and influence. God Bless You All! Please Vote! On April 27, 2011
