I used the guy on Newark and.... 3rd? a couple years ago for a problem I was having with my tv. Sadly it's just now having the same problem again. Pondering whether or not to fix it again (still cheaper than buying a new one) or just shrugging and getting something new if this is gonna be a recurring issue.

Hi Folks,
Can anyone recommend a local TV repairman? My Sony Bravia stopped working and I need an honest, affordable tech to fix it. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

His shop is located on Newark close to the intersection with Monmouth. Great guy and very reliable.

Anyone know if he's still in business? Was closed today and not even a machine on the phone, but maybe he doesn't have AC.

I'll never understand how a business won't even have just an outgoing message with their hrs on their phone, but I've seen it many times.

My TV broke earlier this year. I used a professional company who came out to the house to fix it. It was a little more expensive, but definately worth it.

Another thing to consider: If you purchased your TV with a major credit card, they often extend the manufacturer's warranty. MasterCard doubled my one year warranty and without much issue, paid for my entire repair. If the repair had been more expensive than a replacement, they would have paid for a replacement.

You have a couple of possibilities:

1: You have had a cable box failure
2: You have had a TV failure
3: You have a bad cable

To check 1: use a different source if you have one
To check 2: swap cable box to another TV
3: Swap Cables if you have some.

Cable TV people are generally brain dead and only know the simplest things.

You can call a trained professional to do a house call, this will cost you $125.00 on average.

You can call me the Audio Doctor, I am a 25 year professional audio video designer and installer.

I took mine to Ralph's on 4th and Erie. They hit it with a hammer and now it works fine.

My Tv just lost its color and is now a black and white tv. GRRRR!!!!

This problem happened as I was switching my cable boxes from one defective cable box to another. I am told to get the cost to repair this TV and submit to my cable company as this problem only happened while switching the equipment.

Does anyone know of a tv repair guy that can give me an estimate for repairing / restoring the color on my tv? The TV is a 32" standard TV that is NOT a flat screen but a TV with the big back.

Does anyone know if I need to bring the TV in to the shop or if someone makes house calls or provides an estimate based on general information? The TV is quite heavy to carry.

Any advice would be helpful.
