They are closed on Sundays, odd for a restaraunt.

Robin.

I ate there the other night and tried the eggplant burger and sweet potato fries. Delicious. They also sell prepared foods to go, as well as cheeses.

Ate there today - highly recommend. We split the whole Eli Manning; it had quality roast beef and was great. Awesome add to downtown and the fact that they deliver is great... if only Basic could learn some lessons for those of us in the HP area.

Don't worry, it's not named after the plumber you are thinking of.

Picked up 4 delicious sandwiches on my way home from work on Thursday and had a nice breakfast sandwich inside the joint on Saturday. Food was great and the vibe inside was very comfortable. Looking forward to stopping by on my way home from work often.

I swung by yesterday at 7pm to try one of their sandwiches for the first time.

Unfortunately, they were closed -- it turns out they close at 5pm on Saturdays and are closed all day on Sundays according to the hours posted in the window.

Just while I was making a mental note of their hours of operation and I was peering in the window (the place looks great, btw), a group of three people as well as a couple swung by only to discover they were closed too.

Hopefully they'll consider extended hours on weekends, and will post them on their website.

Anyway, I'll be checking them out at one point this week after work.

And... I walked over there, apparently the hours on their website are also wrong. They're closed Sundays. I got BonChon instead.

(Thanks, everyone, for following the travails of my day.)

WEll, finally someone answered and he said "You're calling a residence, they have new number now." It's the -0076 number on their website! I feel bad, I called like 5 times because I didn't know if they were just busy or what... Oops.

I'm trying to call to place an order, but it goes to voicemail. Are they definitely open?

Just had lunch there today - a solid sandwich - everything tasted fresh and it was definitely filling! I got the 'grove' which included their fresh mozzarella which was excellent - looking forward to trying their signature sandwich next time - Could see this place being a great site for comedy shows/music as well...

I went the other night, had a good burger. Lots of sandwiches that sound mouthwatering, also they season the fries with old bay!

Went in last night and got the steak salad and The Grove sandwich. Food was really good, steak was juicy (not dry) and the sandwich was awesome...fresh ingredients, no skimping on the meats and the mozze was amazing. Will definitely be back...looking forward to trying the taylor ham & cheese on Saturday mornings.

I got the Eli Manning today and it was great. I got 10% off my lunch because it was "work out the kinks" week, that said it only took about 10 minutes to get my sandwich and it was pretty busy.

I'm stoked for this place the food was really good.

Stopped in yesterday for lunch. Only a few vegetarian options, so I got the Eggplant burger. It was excellent... different than anything I have had before but a nice combination of ingredients and prepared well on a delicious fresh bun. The french fries were pretty amazing too. Definitely recommended.

Oh, and the staff seem like some really nice dudes, for what it's worth.

Oh wow, this is great! I just moved back to JC after 2 years in Hoboken and Park and Sixth very quickly became my favorite sandwich place in the Boken.

Seriously, seriously delicious sandwiches.

The proprietor was really nice and personable and went the extra mile to make sure our orders were perfect, and would call us back after we ordered online if anything was remotely amiss.

I'm looking forward to this.

If you missed it ...

we caught up with Park & Sixth owner Brian Dowling last week:

"I love the diversity, the people, the restaurants here. The customer base is a little more artsy, more cerebral," he says. "Locals have been stopping in, saying 'I can't wait' and 'There's nothing like it down here.' There are some great places like Taqueria and Ibby's in the neighborhood, but my place is unique."

I think they have a different take on what people would associate with traditional comfort (i.e. southern) food. So I think this will not present any "issues" for the delicious Soul Flavors establishment.

If you take a look at the menu (link below) it appears to be along the lines of a italian deli style place where you can get a good sandwich or salad as well as some prepared foods. I think the menu looks pretty good and this will be a great addition since a good sandwich place in the grove street area is something we do not have.

I teach in Hoboken and we order from their quite often. They make good grub...will be a good addition to Grove St.

The buffalo chicken is pretty damn tasty.

Here's the menu.

Wait, I'm confused...is this an Italian deli, or a place to get comfort food??

Because those two are VERY different, LOL.

Also, is this a chain? Will it still be called Park & Sixth even if it's on Grove Street?

If this is an Italian deli, an authentic one, I'll be VERY happy, because I've been hoping for one for a long, long time.

Just walked down Grove this morning and saw signs hung in the old Bagua Juice place.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/park-and-sixt ... oboken?wwparam=1264083445

I've never tried the one in Hoboken, but the reviews look good. Though I am mildly disappointed it's "just" an italian deli and there's no mac and cheese, because that's my go-to comfort food.
