View Larger Map Jersey City shooting victim hit with 6 bullets says man dressed in black ran up behind him and just started shooting Wednesday, June 30, 2010 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A Jersey City man remained in intensive care yesterday after being shot six times Monday night on Martin Luther King Drive, police said yesterday, noting images of the gunman were captured by closed circuit television cameras. "The guy just ran up behind me and started shooting," the 31-year-old Grant Avenue victim told officers arriving after the 7:11 p.m. incident near Stevens Avenue. He described the gunman as being dressed "all in black," reports said. Police found the victim down on the sidewalk and bleeding from his torso and surrounded by "a large disorderly group," reports said. He had been shot in the left shoulder, right shoulder blade, twice in the lower abdomen and twice in the left buttock, reports said. He was rushed to an area hospital and into emergency surgery for the life-threatening wounds, reports said. Officials said he remained in intensive care yesterday. The video shows a tall, thin man carrying a silver handgun and wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers, reports said. The man is seen running west on Stevens before turning north onto King Drive, reports said. Police did not release the video footage yesterday. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
