I'd like to bring some fresh mozz for Christmas.

Not sure if it's that kind of a place it's more of an Italian/American delicatessen.
500 Monmouth Street Jersey City, NJ 07302 -

Give it a shot if they are close by if not either go to 2nd St. or head up to the Heights on Central and go to Andrea's.

Salumeria Ertolano on West Side Ave near Puccini's..it's the real deal. Fiore's in Hoboken or 2nd street in Hoboken are authentic. I don't care for Andrea's....they are lacking.

I went to Andreas this weekend and while I'll probably more often frequent 2nd Street because it's much closer to me, I must say that Andreas was awesome. Highly recommend.

The post should read"The only Italian deli" in JC.

And that is without doubt....."Andreas" on Central.

IN BOCA LUPO!

What about Salerno's Salumeria, (201) 653- 8595 they're located at 453 Central Ave. up in the Heights near Goehrig's Bakery on the north end of the strip. Just another Italian deli option in J.C.

the meatballs are fantastic - flavorful, tender but firm.
anything with the mozzarella. they have great mozzarella.
the soups are really, really good.
i don't know. maybe there's something mediocre there, but i don't know what it is.

the place on Mallory Avenue is the best. I think it's called Carmines.
But Monmouth St. Deli has really good mozarella.
