yeah, they were probably still trying to trick more people into "helping" them, saw the woman again and decided to carjack her. I'm glad they got caught.

Why did they wait an hour and 15 minutes for this particular woman? She was only in the mall for an hour and 15 minutes. They were probably roaming the parking garage, looking for trouble. I hope she's ok.

Maybe the car was worth waiting for? No clue, pretty weird.

I am curious why this woman was targeted. There are plenty of people that shop at that mall and park there. Why did they wait an hour and 15 minutes for this particular woman? I am glad they got caught and I hope the victim didn't suffer too much physical damage.

what's scary about this article is that the two girls WAITED until the woman came back to her car after hours of shopping. you'd think once the woman went into Macy's that's the end of that.

Newark teens accused in Jersey City carjacking nabbed in Elizabeth By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal October 12, 2009, 2:44PM Two 17-year-old Newark teens carjacked a woman's car at Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City on Sunday only to be arrested less than two hours later as they loaded shopping bags into the car after a shopping spree with stolen credit cards at Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth, police reports said. Police were called to Newport Centre Mall at 30 Mall Drive West at 5:10 p.m. on the report of a carjacking. A 34-year-old Cator Avenue resident told police she parked her 2008 Scion at 4:15 p.m. on the second floor of the parking garage when she was confronted by two girls who said they had locked their keys in the car. She refused to help them saying that they should see security, but they followed her into Macy's Department store arguing with her. As she left the store at 5:30 p.m., the same people who had been waiting for her while she shopped then jumped from behind a parked vehicle as she was getting back into her car, reports said. They then began punching her in the face, grabbed her keys from her hand, pushed her out of the driver's seat, and drove away with her purse still in the car, reports said. The Port Authority Police of New York and New Jersey then spotted the stolen car at the Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth and arrested the girls in the parking lot as they loaded their shopping bags into the open trunk. The two 17-year-old girls, one of Avon Avenue and the other of Treacy Avenue, were charged with carjacking, aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, and fraudulent use of a credit card, reports said. Both girls were remanded in custody at Hudson County Youth House.
