Again, more details please.... How do you know it was NBC that took it down?

I enjoyed the mural this weekend, sorry to learn it is down. The Cultural Affairs office handles film permits. Please contact Manny Muria at 201-547-4332.

Did you pay for the wall space or get a permit for your wheatpaste?

If not, NBC did nothing wrong. If so, sue them to recover your costs.

Money trumps everything. And I imagine the city is making a bit of it off the filming.

Sad but true.

The National Broadcasting Company (N.B.C.) destroyed a mural by Jersey City artist collaborative Agitators Collective.

The mural, Waste Not - Want Not, was commissioned by the organizers of 4th Street Art and Music Festival, an annual arts festival celebrating the art and culture of Jersey City, Hudson County, and the region.

if they did destroy it, my guess is it was because of continuity, and not as a critique of your art.

if they're doing pickup shots for a scene that has that (blank) embankment in the backdrop, your swell kidneys would mess that up.

sucks, but that's showbiz.

(I really liked the mural, btw. a lot more than I like "Mercy")

Why don't you tell us WHAT happened, and how you know it was NBC, instead of throwing around an accusation and posting links of the finished mural?

Bastards woke me up at 6am this morning trying to park their f-ing trailers. can't they at least turn the f-ing beaping off when they're in a residential area? I almost stormed downstairs in my pjs but I was too tired to roll out of bed and buried myself under the blanket until it stopped.

Finally, we'll get a police presence there....

Just went down to have a look...They have the entire block roped off and there's an ambulance there in front of that lovely playground. Wow, they are going for realism and accuracy on this show - no need to even put out a casting call for extras!

Yeah, pain in my ass walking to work today. P.A. told me I had to wait till the shot was done. I heard another one tell a guy that he couldn't sit on his stoop with his dog cause he would be in the shot.

I wonder how the dealers feel about losing their turf.

I hope the script writers are reading these posts. It would be kind of fun and cool if the charater discovered the best Indian food in Journal Square or something that makes Jersey City special.

And yes I think that's part of the development of the character, they're setting up a dramatic turn around for later.

Clearly this is the beginning of a story arc in which the reluctant LA transplant learns the bright side of JC & NJ, other than his amour.

Stop being such a victim. All humor is like that. Jersey could do far worst for image (think Utah or West Virginia). I grew up in Chicago and thought that old SNL bit about "da Bears" was hilarious. Not all Chicagoans are fat, sausage-chomping Bears worshippers, but I could definitely see some of the guys I grew up with in those skits. You gotta be able to laugh at yourself sometimes. Fwiw, I thought the doctor on "Mercy" had a point about people in New Jersey being angry all time time. Sure seems that way whenever I get behind the wheel...

Its the doctor that was in Iraq (Dr. Sands) with the blond lead nurse (Veronica). They had an affair while they were both stationed in Iraq. He's orignally from California but only came to NJ to work in the same hospital as Veronica because he fell in love with her. She decided when she got back to try to work out her marriage, but he didn't know that before he signed an employment contract with the hospital. He wanted to surprise her. So he said he was going to wait around until her marriage falls apart (which he believes will happen eventually). He said he hates NJ and thinks it's a dump because he can't surf etc. She defends NJ saying it has its own charm and he should give it a chance and besides you can surf in Cape May.
http://www.nbc.com/mercy/

I have to admit I'm starting to get into it. The first show was blah, but the second episode was more interesting and the charaters are starting to develop more. It has potential.

So nobody has the number to contact them about parking?
I guess I'll have to deal with it on Monday morning.

I saw the episode...The character was just spewing the stereotypical image the rest of the country has about Jersey. I thought it was kinda funny. Rightly or wrongly that is how people view the state. Lighten up.

What did the character say? I'm curious.
