Near Subia's organic market and near the shooting that was on Wayne and on Jersey Ave according to the notice, although they didn't mention the shooting.

On another topic is there any way to change the name of a thread on this board? This should really be called NBC show Mercy or something along those lines.

Hi Everybody,
I got a notice they're filming on my block on Monday and I should contact them for a parking voucher. Except I forgot the notice at home.
Does anyone have the number to call?
Thanks,
Amy

jeph77--stinks that they did that to you. My friend is still interested in contacting them. Do you have the info? Thanks.

@mercer1974: Don't do it! I had an appointment today with them at 11:00am, called at 11:30am to see where they were, and just got a call at 1:00pm to apologize but they wouldn't be able to use my space anyway because the building is too small. Not intending to keep an appointment and failing to call? Not someone I'd recommend doing business with.

I kind of liked it. It is a little rough around the edges (but then again, so it "gritty" Jersey City). It was pretty neat to see 8th and Erie on TV.

I finally got a chance to watch Mercy last on my DVR. It kind of sucked, but I think it has potential. It was cool to see Jersey City in the background. The opening scene was at the coffee shop on the corner of Erie Street near Hamilton park. It's really good publicity for Jersey City, and if more studios filmed here it's good revenue for the city. So I'm going to give the show a chance.
I couldn't figure out where her parents house is. They tried to make it look like the heights but it didn't make sense and looked more like Weehawken or Union City. I think the Lincoln Tunnel ramp was in there.

Unfortunately for Mercy, Nurse Jackie aired first and set the standard: edgy, fast paced, captivating, and a great supporting cast. I only watched it because it was on after weeds, but it turned out to be a great show. If only that show was set in Jersey City....

Remember, Jackie is on Showtime, not even basic cable but a pay cable channel. Mercy is on NBC, reaching a far larger audience. You really can't compare the markets, even if the shows are similar. I didn't think the Mercy pilot was great, but most primetime soaps seem pretty bad.

I liked Nurse Jackie, but I couldn't take the thread of her emotionally suffering kids. Being a dad has changes the way I view lots of drama, particularly the medical ones with sick kids.

I'm really liking Glee. Edgy, but skating the fantastical, sort of like the 1st season of Weeds, before they went OVER the edge.

Teenage girl hunched over toilet trying to vomit:" I don't think I have a gag reflex"

Prim female teacher: "One day when you're older that'll turn out to be a gift"

Its great that downtown Jersey City is getting some publicity, but it sucks that the show kinda sucks. Slowest moving show and not enough comedic relief from the boring dramatic plot. I won't even get into the acting.

That's because you can't relay the sense of smell over television.

I'm starting to think you might actually enjoy the god awful stink of Lucky 7's. You do talk about it quite often.

It's no big deal, though, I have a younger brother and he loves the smells of gasoline and skunks. I'm not gonna judge you.

I live in the vicinity and can smell it from far away. I like the smell of fresh print, bleach, hay and turpentine...lucky 7's isn't one of them. I would prefer to live next to a stable instead, the smell of manure is way more pleasant then cigarettes and skunky beer.

I tried to watch it ... the wife made me ... said something about "it's inthe 'hood so you have to support it" .... after the first 15 minutes I was about to vomit ...the sex scenes were "boring", the main chick was reasonably good ... but the rest were a joke. The writing sucked. The direction was non-existant and the story line ... what story line? Never Again. (Luck 7 looked really good, though .... )

I wanted to watch it at least until the point where she grabbed the woman's nose (that was in some preview). After that they lost me.

i caught the last 10 seconds when they showed the outside of lucky 7's. that got a laugh out of me, but then when the acting started (fawning over a cut bartender) i wasn't upset that i had missed the previous 57 minutes anymore.

There's also another nurse show starring Jada Pinckett Smith featuring the same clichés. It's called HawthoRNe. The R and N are actually capitalized in the title. Someone apparently thinks that's clever.

Only saw about 1 minute of the show last night on my way out, but it looked really bad. I saved it on my DVR, so I'll probably watch it tonight, although I think I might go blind and deaf.

I saw the preview when it was online a few months ago. I thought it was pretty bad. It would be much more interesting if they hired actors that actually look like real doctors and nurses. Oh, and if they had better writers and acting.

This is why they gave Leno the 10 pm hour -- NBC can't find quality programming.

But to be fair, I believe that Mercy was given a shot because Parenthood got delayed due to Maura Tierney's cancer. Otherwise it would have been buried mid-season where it was a little less high profile.

I couldn't even bear to watch it last night.

Yesterday NPR panned the show as the "worst" of the new season.

Sometimes the pilot of a show doesn't totally reflect tone and performance. The pilot is the one that a production company will sell to the network to get it picked up. Often it is jammed packed with "introduction storylines" that don't do the real show justice, newbie actors aren't as relaxed, editing gets messed with. The pilot is so networks can see what they are buying.

Ahhh.... so THAT'S what pilots are... Thanks for clearing that up.

Dude, plenty of new-to-market network TV shows manage to put out quality pilots with quality storylines. That thing from last night, the only good thing it had was good editing. Sorry to burst your bubble...

The pilot is so networks can see what they are buying. Then when more $$ comes from the network the show can get it's legs in the next episodes. Maybe give it a few more episodes before writing it off and see if it gets better. Everyone will be more relaxed in performance, tone and editing and maybe it will come together a little more...

The scenes you saw were in an old hospital only for the pilot episode, in fact, even some of them were done in a studio and not in that hospital location, they just re-built it to look like the same interiors...the show has since moved everything to a studio in Secaucus with exception of the externals.

You know I was so excited for this show.... but mad at the same time because it conflicted with Americas Next Top Model, so I flip flopped... the acting was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! I think I was expecting a nurse jackie which it sadly wasn't even close. Although the gay male nurse could pass as the same one!!! So I am really glad to say I will not have a conflict of time anymore.

The actor playing the father totally looks like he could play Healy in the made for TV movie. Drinks like him too.
