Hmm.. I wonder if there is something that can be adjusted to reduce the noise. One of the nice things about the park is the insulation from the urban soundscape.

I worked at a place in Manhattan that had a gigantic terrace outside on the 20-somethingth floor. It was so loud due to air conditioning in a couple nearby buildings that you couldn't have a converstaion. The business's plan of using this outside area for working peacefully, meeting clients in an impressive setting, etc, were ruined.

This was a good $200,000/year's worth of rent for that portion of the space, completely ruined by the noise of air conditioners from other buildings.

Sorry, but I can't whistle and you don't want me to sing.

Yeah, it kinda sounds like a helicopter hovering in the distance. It must vibrate like crazy inside the building. Those quiet summer nights in Hamilton Park are over.

It's the AC units atop the Hospital Building.

If you think that hum is interesting, walk in the back of the Holland Motor Lodge and listen to the strange high-pitched noise as you walk under the power lines. Some kind of power line disaster waiting to happen? Never heard this sound in my life.

I've noticed a loud humming as I walk around the park. The humming occurs at all times of the day. Has anybody else noticed this too?
