Jersey City school district was cited as a school district in need of improvement per the federal No Child Left Behind guidelines.

Also, CREATE Charter School and University Academy Charter School were cited as schools in need of improvement. Also important, MANY JC school were cited as not meeting Adequate Yearly Progress.
