Any of these soundproofed? OR are these only for visual artists?

Try the Neumann Leather Building in Hoboken. They have a tenants' association - perhaps they could steer you to empty studios (found mine on craigslist). I had a 600 sq foot on for $350 a month. They are all chopped up, so they do vary.

yes, i live here. i was suggesting an alternative. artists are urban pioneers, and newark needs both.

The area isn't too good? Wibbit the area is just fine.

Millon Dollar plus townhouses are right across the street on Wayne, Mercer and Varick.

The only way you can get in Dixon right now is to rent from one of the owners or buy a unit. I know that a few owners have their places on the market due to relocation but you can probably get a better industrial rental elsewhere if you are just looking for a work space. The rentals here would be a little more in money with less space that a regular work loft.

On Craigslist right now. A little over a mile from DT but right by the Liberty State Park lightrail.

I'm just looking to work there. By the end of the year, I might be purchasing a letterpress and would need some space to do work.

Have you tried 111 First Street?

Right at the epicenter of Jersey City's world class, world renown arts district.

You've heard about that place, haven't you? The Mayor and City Council are always promoting it..... Take a drive between Trump Tower and the "A".... you can't miss it!

Anyone know any affordable artist studio lofts in the downtown area? I'm looking to rent some space but preferably one in an artist loft building.

I saw one on 150 Bay Street but it looks expensive and exclusive.
(i think I applied for it years ago and got rejected because I was considered a commercial artist. I guess that's their thoughts about graphic designers. Ridiculous...)
