I've been looking for something like this, where I can measure "walksheds." Nice find!

Gulls Cove currently ranks a 92. Where I used to live on Monmouth ranks a 94.

There are a few kinks in the mapping though. The schools section is missing quite a few (in fact, it omits the closest public elementary schools, PS 3 and PS 16). It lists the Xanadu project, which is going to be built in the Meadowlands, as a "movie theater" located at 2 Jersey Avenue (the footbridge by Liberty State Park).

And the "bars" section is incredibly weird. It lists some local bars all right, but omits everything on Grove Street, except one establishment which is not a bar but apparently an....ahem, escort service. When I search from Monmouth Street, it lists "bars" such as the defunct Janam Tea Shop and "Jersey City Charter Yachts" (the LSP Marina) as bars (no escort service though, hmm).

It also looks like the map calculates distances "as the crow flies" because there's no way I can walk 1.74 miles and get to the Tribeca Film Center (unless I can sneak into the PATH tunnels, I guess).

It's a neat site, but definitely needs some refining.

I?m of two minds about the commute. Relying on my own two feet to get to work has been simple and satisfying - less draining on me and the environment and a source of exercise (like Harry S. Truman I like to walk with purpose). It?s also freed up time that I can spend with my two young children. On top of that, my downtown Jersey City neighborhood has a 94 ?walk score? on the online real estate information provider Zillow - making it a solid walker?s paradise. (The walk score awards points for a home?s proximity to stores, restaurants, schools and parks.)
