Liberty Humane Society, 235 Jersey City Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07305 Old friends and new friends alike - Liberty Humane Society desperately needs your help! We have been doing everything in we can think of to reduce euthanasia at our shelter. You've seen the many emails from me. You've seen our Craigslist ads and our Facebook promotions and you've gotten our calls. We knew going into "kitten season" would make our task that much harder, but we were prepared to keep on improving our stats and saving as many animals as we can. Currently, we have almost 250 cat and kittens in our sheltering system, most of those actually in the shelter (some in foster). Today, we received word that a local rescuer in Jersey City has passed away and that all of her animals, most of which are cats, will be arriving at LHS in the next few days. We are already at capacity so this news is troublesome. We're looking to our friends to help us make room and save lives! Even taking one single cat will help. If you haven't taken a cat from us in a while or you're one of our regulars - please consider stopping by. If we haven't worked with you before, LHS IS VERY RESCUE FRIENDLY! Approved rescue groups are welcome to any cat we have and there is NEVER pull fee. Our cats are vaccinated and dewormed and testing is available should you want it. Many of our cats are spayed/neutered already as well. You don't need an appointment - please just come in. We're open Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 8pm.
