We were watching the TV news, a story about a guy who was shot to death in Newark in a drive by -- they were interviewing a young woman about what she saw. She said "it happened right before I was shot" - and the reporter surprised said "you were shot?" She said "yeah, I still can't sit down."

Man shot four times

Monday, November 03, 2008

A Rahway man was shot four times, including twice in the buttocks, in Jersey City Saturday evening, police reports said.

Police arrived at Salem Lafayette Court to find a gun shot victim lying on his back at 9:07 p.m. The 20-year-old victim said he was walking through the courtyard of the apartment complex with some Chinese food when someone walked up to him and fired four rounds at him, reports said. He told police he could not identify the assailant, police said.

The victim, who had four gunshot wounds - one through his right wrist, another in his upper right thigh and two in his left buttock - was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for internal bleeding, reports said.

He was listed in stable condition. Police found two .40 caliber bullets from a handgun at the crime scene, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Jersey City Police Department's confidential tip line at (201) 547-5245.
