Both new ones are sadly gone but the original remains steadfast. Apparently they were more of an eyesore than all of the ugly, plastic, green boxes stuffed with real estate brochures and adorned with graffiti. My bad.

Or, as my mom put it in a comment to the post: "i think someone decided to steal the bird feeder for their own little birdies!!!!!!!!!!"

Keep your eyes peeled for more anger or glee-inducing pieces in your open world.

I haven't noticed them, but I will look now. I think it's a good idea.

Thanks Chocolate Cake! Seems someone wasn't thrilled by the one on Grove as it's already gone. Oh well, we went into hanging them in more high traffic areas with the expectation that we may have a casualty or two.

I actually stopped by the one at the corner of Jersey and Newark after work to grab a few pictures and, fueled by some of the reactions here asked a random assortment of people what they thought about the feeder and every single one were into it. Not sure if that was because I was putting them on the spot but I'll take it as a positive response, nevertheless.

I love your idea!!!!

It's very cool to see someone do something so....well, eccentric and charming and helpful all at the same time.

I thank you and the birds thank you.

The first one went up as a test a couple weeks ago on Newark and Brunswick to see how it would handle. It hasn't fallen or looked any worse for the wear at all so I'm not so concerned about that one. The type of rope I chose is really rough so the knots aren't going to come undone naturally

Also, none of them are over where cars would park or benches or anything. If someone decides to stand under one that has a pigeon in it, they may just want to be pooped on. They are definitely not so high up as to be mistaken. Of course, I wish no pigeon poopage on anyone!

I saw it this morning and it's clever but it's gonna fall on someone.

I didn't realize it was a birdfeeder though. It looked like a guillotine. But that's just me.

I hope you made your feeder pigeon proof or else a lot of car owners and pedestrians will be really upset with you.
