Personally.... I like Sandy Hook, if you go to the un-lifeguarded beaches, they are pretty quiet.

I think there's another thread on here about this, but I recomend Mannasquan. I think it's about 1.5 hours, maybe a little less? It's right next to Point Pleasant. Very quiet & pretty clean, no big boardwalk or bar scene. I forget how much the fee is to go on, but I think they're all similiar in cost.

Hi!
I recently moved to Jersey City and I know there are a slew of beaches here. I am wondering if someone can suggest a beach that is fairly close to JC by car(under 1 1/2 hours - or 1 hour) and pretty cool (can go swimming of course, not extremely crowded - tho I know that might be asking for too much - not a high entrance fee, etc) I know of Sandy Hook...but have never been there...is that a good one ? Or any other suggestions? Thanks so much!
