I'm pretty sure that it has to be your primary residence, in which case you don't qualify. I don't know the specifics of when it had to be your primary residence.

Plus, there are income guidelines. You have to have spent about 1/3 of your monthly income on the mortgage during a certain time frame.

I think it also only applies if you have an adjustable rate mortgage.

It's called the 'Housing and Economic Recovery Act.'

Hi,

I co-own an apartment in Jersey City, St. Pauls Avenue. I am originally from NY but am now living in London. I picked up the property at the height of the boom and am now feeling the pinch.
I understand that there is a finacial stimulus package enacted to help people keep their apartments and wondered where I might stand with this? Are there any forms I have to fill in and if so what are they?
Also does the stimulus package extend to people that are renting their apartments out?
I would appreciate any help that you might be willing to give.

Thanks,

Nick
