Perhaps as has been successful in the past...you can communicate your request to the BOE Board members(Suzzanne Mack, etc.). Several elderly residents had an interest in swimming in Paulus Hook but didn't have the penchant or wherewithall to schlep up to Pershing Field for a swim (and then have to pay a fee on top of that). They got access...don't know if it continues to this day.

I used to go during toddler time with my kids, and also for swimming laps. So its pretty mild at those times. I have walked past during free times and it would be older kids there, but the life guards seemed to run things pretty well, there are alot of rules about no "horseplay" in and around the pool.

I used to live across the street from the pool at Pavonia-Westside and it was great when I lived there. It's been 2 years since I've been there. Its free, its really clean and there are special hours for swimming-so call ahead. I think early morning is lap swimming, there are toddler hours and theres open time (the most crowded time) If you have kids its great, the waterfall/ fountain is refreshing.

Where can I find a good clean swimming pool to use in Jersey City - I live in Paulus Hook so downtown would be ideal.

I would like to be able to swim laps after work - starting around 7pm.

I believe there is an outdoor city pool at Pavonia and Westside Aves.

There is an indoor city pool at Pershing Field in the Heigts and open swimming available at indoor pools at Steven Institute and the Y both in Hoboken. Also, I believe some Jersey City Schools open their indoor pools to the public (or maybe just kids) during the summer including PS 16 in Paulus Hook,

I've got two kids, and I've given up searching. Make friends with someone in a nice new building. They've all got pools.
