most fun is my holga with a polaroid back (instant gratification!).

also love my Lomo. Don't know if you've checked it out, but Lomo is constantly releasing really interesting and fun new, and closeout cameras.... some straight from the old USSR.....

dig it:

Oops, I misspelled something there... but what do I know about French? Sorry, Red Sky.

I have want to pick up one of those ( Holga etc. ) Saw them on the web of course, but does any place retail them nearby? In NY ?

Go to B&H, DO NOT buy a Holga on the web, particularly on eBay or from Urban Outfitters. B&H sells them for $20-35, while most websites (particularly auction sites) sell them for upwards of $50, and on eBay they tend to go for around $70. I think Urban Outfitters' price for a Holga is $80. Don't believe the hype.

Also, a good (though pricey) place to get your 120 developed is Digital C Lab on 36th & 8th. They do really great work and are very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Varick, you can go to BH in NY - its on 9th and 33rd. I assume you have been there, if not, you will be like a kid in a candy store.. let me know how you make out - or if you would like to get together and shoot - would like to get a group together.

Take a look at the Flickr group, Jersey City. Specifically, "Ceil Rouge" and "Darlene.9999" do a lot of cool toy camera stuff in and around the area.

Hey, could be fun. I can't commit to anything in the next couple of weeks, though

tooting own horn... i love the hobby :] i've got a 30d, a film EOS, and a rollei 35S, of which the 35S has seen most of the outside world as of late. there's something magical about film, and even more magical about pulling wet film from a dev tank.

i've got my (yes i'm only an amateur) stuff up on flickr here: http://flickr.com/photos/jangie/

you won't find much of new jersey, or jersey city in there... not that i don't find it photogenic, i just feel more comfortable taking pictures in the city where i can claim to be 'just a tourist.'

Now that the weather will start to become warm, I'd like to get out, dust off my LOMO and Holga and start taking some pictures the old fashion way. Any other members into these cameras or photography in general? I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!
