Not sure if there's much that can be done other than to comply. JC does seem to have a lot of fires. You can try to offset the cost a bit by trying to negotiate a lower premium with the building's insurance carrier since the building's fire safety will presumably be improved.

I live in an older high rise condo, and since last year the fire department has been giving us more and more fire violations. The violations given are for recent changes in fire regulations. So we have to retrofit the building and this means higher assessments.
Anyone else facing this? Can anything be done to make this situation better? If you wish to reply in a PM that is fine.
